i'm not sure if it's my contacts or not.. but yeah. okay, well i just put on my contacts.. and everything seems clear, like how it's supposed to. but then it's also kinda blurry at the same time. like it can't really focus real clearly. especially when i'm staring at the computer screen. what should i do? & what is going on?
If you're like many people, you might have different prescriptions for each eye. Check the numbers on the boxes [your doctor should have written LEFT and RIGHT on them if they're different]. You may have them in the wrong eyes.
Make sure your contacts are facing the right way and aren't "inside-out". They should look like this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
- and if they're inside out, you'll know after awhile, trust me- the edges will be sort of curled out. Many brands now [I know that Acuvue does] have 'inside out marks' like an AV or 123 imprinted on the lens.
If this is happening ONLY when you're focusing on something, or after long periods of time doing the same thing, you might not be blinking enough. Whenever I play Guitar Hero my lenses hurt because I forget to blink. Try shifting your gaze to something other than the screen every few minutes. A picture of a boyfriend/girlfriend/family pet/JD taped to the side of the monitor might be helpful.
And of course be sure you're cleaning your lenses properly. Even with 'no-rub' formulas you should be rubbing them. It's just better. Consider switching solution brands- you might be allergic to a preservative [but that's probably only the case if your eyes are hurting too]
es answered Tuesday July 15 2008, 12:07 am: this happened to me and there can be a couple of possible causes for this problem:
1. you're tired therefore you can't focus clearly although this would have been obvious.. you might want to take out you're contacts and let your eyes rest
2. you have astigmatism. i never understood or believed it and thought it was a way for optomitrists to charge more money and basically bullshit you but in reality that is most likelly the main cause. you see blurry when your eyes are in focus, so you need to see if special contacts for astigmatism help.

If you've tried that and you've still got blurry vision, I would wear glasses [if you have them] for a day or two. Maybe your eyes are irritated.
Have your mom [or yourself] call your eye doctor. Maybe you need a new prescription.
