Stainless steel and silver

are stainless steel, surgical steel and silver the same thing? i think they are different, but a lot of people have told me they are the same thing. want to know for ring i am buying...

Surgical steel is a higher grade of stainless steel. Silver is completely different. Stainless and surgical steel will not tarnish over time, but it's less valuable than silver.

Using steel instead of silver is like using zirconia instead of diamond. It can actually look better, but some people won't like it because it's not "real".

Steel and silver definitely are not the same thing. Silver (Ag) is a fundamental element while steel is an iron (Fe) and carbon (Ca) alloy.

Ag, Fe, and Ca are the short names for these elements in the period table. You can look up more info online:

PS Get a silver ring. I don't think they make steel rings. That would be weird...
