How can I be creative while earing points in Camp Curves?
Question Posted Wednesday July 9 2008, 1:02 am
I joined the local Curves for women and also signed up to be in the Camp Curves this summer. This was the first week of Camp Curves and I've gotten a total of 3 points, but I'm looking to get a lot more for my cabin.
I'm really having a hard time thinking up creative ideas that I can do for the subjects at hand. Here are the list of ways to earn points for each cabin:
1. Design your cabin's flag.
2. Come up with a slogan for your cabin.
3. Create a camp song for your cabin.
4. Make a motivational Camp Curves poster.
5. Come up with a fun event for your cabin.
6. Share a *healthy* camp recipe.
Any ideas on how to make these things unique?
I have no idea where to start on any of them! Take for example, if I do the poster I really want it to be spiffy but I don't know what I'd put on it or how I'd make it appealing to others.
As a note, my cabin is called Purple Pride so things need to revolve around such things (and Curves, weightloss, getting fit) I'd think. Curves is all about getting fit, losing weight, being healthy, and altering your lifestyle to a healthier one with better foods and good exercise.
Take a picture of someone swimming laps in the lake in the deep end.
Take a picture of someone doing jumping jacks with a life guard.
Take a picture of your group in the woods in the trails.
Take a picture of all you girls in (a certain costume) running around hugging random people.
you add up points depending on how "bad-ass" the deed was. you're going to get about 20 deeds, all deeds earning 5 points each. Add them up, the more bad-ass you do it, the more points!
etc! it will be a fun event! [ Lauraaxhelps's advice column | Ask Lauraaxhelps A Question ]

I can't draw to save my life and I cant come up with anything for a song(and I ever play guitar!). There are, however, things that I can share to help come up with a fun event for your cabin and healthy recipes. I love staying fit, active, and in shape; and who doesn't like having fun! There's a few things you can come up with for your cabin. The best thing to do to have fun while staying in shape is finding an activity that everyone enjoys (like walking) and adding something to it to 'spice it up'. If walking is a common theme, try turn it into hiking. Find a hiking trail near by or a nature walking trail and go out and have fun. For those in the group that do enjoy nature, u can make it a weekly thing, bring cameras to take pictures of nature, birds, animals, the sky (now that i think of it, you can use this as part of your poster!) If nature walking isn't a favorite, you can always try to find a fundraiser walk (juvenile diabetes, AIDS awareness, Cancer awareness). This is not only a good way to stay fit and active but it also helps out a cause and can bring your cabin closer together.
As for a recipe, there are many foods that can seem healthy and are healthy but taste awful. The main part of having a healthy recipe, whether it be for dinner, lunch, breakfast, is to go low on calories and HIGH in flavor! Try going to the foodnetwork.com and looking under chefs like Ellie Kreiger(Healthy Appittite), Rachel Ray(30 minute meals), and Sandra Lee(semi home made cooking). All these chefs/cooks have a unique was of packing low calories with high flavors. To make them even healthier, try to substitute some things, like chicken for beef, or a whole wheat pasta for a flour pasta. Try some recipes out too (another fun camp event to do!). There's nothing wrong with adding your own flare to someone else's recipe. Give it a try and good luck [ TMZheartsJDMS022108's advice column | Ask TMZheartsJDMS022108 A Question ]
