pinkpolkadots answered Wednesday June 25 2008, 11:15 pm: Ugh, I have the same problem. Damn those freckles. I hate them.
It's not really the type of foundation that makes a difference, it's the color.
I have dry skin, however, so I've always used creams instead of powders. But the creams work really well and they give a very even coverage. I wouldn't think that powders would work very well anyway, they just don't seem adequate. (Not that I've ever used one though, so try one if you want to, haha) So I suggest using a cream. The kind that I use, and it took me thousands of different foundations to land on this one and I absolutely love it, is Maybelline Superstay Silky foundation. It has 16 hr coverage and spf 12 sunscreen. (Which helps prevent more freckles, haha) It has two different sides of it one is the shade of foundation itself and the other is the "silky coverage extender" and when you push the top they come out together. I always put it on with a make-up sponge. I just squeeze it directly onto the sponge and then I mix the two different sides together with my finger then I apply it all over my face. It works EXTREMELY well and it evens out my skin tone so well that unless I'm in bright sunlight you almost can't even tell I have freckles.
As for the shade I always get a shade that matches the majority of my freckles rather than get the shader of my lighter skin. It's easier to make something darker than to make it lighter, haha. So it has a double purpose...it hides my freckles and makes me look more tan.

Or try a good concealer on the places you have freckles and then put the powder on.
I also know that if you buy green lip stick and rub it into your face it covers up the redness of your face and if you buy yellow lipstick it covers up the black circles under your eyes so, you can also try to do some research online to find a lip stick that'll cover up freckles too?
(I know the lip stick color thing sounds weird but I know for a fact those really do work, I have naturally really pink cheeks and you rub the green into it and it tones it down a LOT so that's the only reason I suggest going to a make up store or looking online to find one that maybe help with brown spots or freckels.)
