But anyway onto your question. The best thing you can do is lots and lots of cardio.
There's a difference between losing fat and building muscle. You cannot target where your body loses fat, but you can target where you build muscle.
Unfortunately, the one of those two that you CAN target towards your calves, you're not going to want to do because it's just going to make your calves bigger with muscle.
Just run as much as you can or power walk if you don't like running. Bring your ipod or cd player to pass the time or bring your dog with you, it'll make it seem like less of a chore. Cardio is going to burn the calories, which is how fat loss happens. Another thing you can do is if you have a gym membership, use some of the different cardio machines for variety. The elliptical machine is great, I use it all the time and it's better than running for me because it takes the stress off your knees.
