Here's an alternative method I'm sure you'll think is fake.

From that previous question:

Hey. I know this sounds weird, odd, strange, etc., but what I'm about to say to you ACTUALLY works:

Get some lemon juice. You got the lemon juice? Alright- now take the lemon juice- and take a Q-tip and dab some lemon juice onto your zit with the lemon juice. Just a thin layer- not the whole bottle, silly! =D

Alright- so doing this at night is the best thing to do- it will really reduce the size and shape of the zit- and you won't know it was there in a few days.

Make sure not to touch it with your fingers after you put on the lemon juice- the oils from your fingers will stop the effect.

Relax- everyone gets zits- so you're only normal =D.

Alright, so, first of all - is it mild, moderate, or severe? That determines how you treat it.

This is what works for me:
Once every night I use micro retin a (you have to get this from your dermatologist. and if it dries out your skin too much, use it every other night) Then for spot treatments I use the overnight clearing gel by dermalogica (They're products are at most spas, and if there's an Ulta where you live, it'll be there. Here's the site [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) And I take solodyn once every day (it's an antibiotic you have to get from the dermatologist). I've tried everything from ProActive to that whole no-milk diet and nothing worked till now. Most of what I suggested is sort of expensive, but trust me, it's worth it cause my skin's clearer than it's ever been.

As for make up, try Jane Iredale. It's really good and doesn't clog your pores or anything.

Also, if you tan or whatever, make sure the sunscreen you use on your face is non-comedogenic (that means it won't clog your pores) cause that can make you break out real bad if it isn't. I had to learn that the hard way.

Hope I helped. :)

Well everyone's skin is different, so i cannot guarantee any results but this is what worked for me. I used to use all the special acne creams and facewash when I had HORRIBLE acne on my forehead. i washed twice a day, everyday, and applied creams after each wash. I still had acne. Then, one day I started washing my face just once a day, with a mild soap (Dr. Bronners hemp soap) and threw away all the creams. During that time I also changed my diet and started drinking more water. Since then, I have had perfectly clear skin for about 6 years now (honestly I have had just a few zits in all those years combined about one every year seriously). the only thing I put on my face is moisturizer. I think washing it less helps because if you wash your face too much it strips it of its natural oils, thus making you produce more acne causing oil. Make-up also causes acne. If you can't do without you could try mineral make-up. Oh yeah and I also got my friend to try washing with doc bronners and her face is 50% clearer. Good luck.
