Weight

Question Posted Tuesday June 17 2008, 2:10 am

I'm 13 years old, almost 14. I weigh about 105 but I kind of want to lose weight. I am very lazy. I'm not really skinny but I'm not really fat. I feel like I need to do this and I want to. I eat alot! Thats one problem with me. I usually sit on the computer all day which is bad for me and I know that. I'm just very lazy. Now its summer and I'm more on the computer than I have ever been. I need to exercise more and stuff. Can you please help me? Thanks so much.

Additional info, added Tuesday June 17 2008, 2:25 am:
I also can't even do a single push up. I can do sit ups but not push ups. Its also kind of embarrassing if I go to a pool party or something and my stomach sticks out. So I kinda want to get rid of my stomach fat. Thanks!.

Ok you remind me of .. well me. I enjoy being lazy and eating but if you were to see me you would never guess. I am an all year athlete but I enjoy being lazy. Sports keep me in top conditions but things I do besides that is going to the gym usually every other nihgt sometimes I skip but going helps. I run and lift weights (I don't run if I did on my own that day)

I run between 2-4 miles every other day and I got big hills near me so on the days I don't do distance I sprint up them about 20 times each (4 hills of all different heights) with breaks in between. Also the wii is a great thing to do with friends to keep yourself busy and movign and being lazy. I don't do all of these things everyday but by working out and simply gonig out with my friends a lot I keep in good shape. Hope this helps.

As for push-ups don't worry, being healthy will make these easier over times. I used to be able to do 3 at the most and 2-3 pulls ups now I can do 30+ push ups and 25 pulls ups each cycle easily. You don't need huge muscles to do either of the 2. Also if you want a "six pack" try crunches and there are many good videos if you type it into google.

This is my excersize routine. GREAT FOR ABS if you wanna lose weight there.

I start out with running 8 miles (Its unlikely you can do that much haha, so start out slow, like with 2 miles and work your way up this summer. Set a goal of how many miles you'd wanna run by the end, such as 6 miles.)

Then when I get home, I sometimes do sprints.
Normally not, but they are good for you.

Then I work on Strength and conditioning. This you CAN do in front of the TV, so that works well with your laziness :) just kidding:
*10 pushups (I can't do them either. I attempt them, and I hope by the end of the summer I get good at them)
*2:00 of plank (Start with 1:00... like I said I've got great abs so I can do it for really long) This is plank if you dont know [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
*50 crunches
*2:00 Squat --> Like your sitting on an invisible chair: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) (once again you can start out with one minute)
*50 lunges (25 each leg)
*30 sit ups
*1:00 one-legged squats. Like the one above but you put on leg crossing the other. Then switch for another minute
*Then I finish it off with 15 pushups.

Sooo I'm in reaaal good shape, but 2 miles takes me like around 13 minutes (which is a 6:30 mile). Thats really fast, so aim for 2 miles in 16 minutes (8 mins, which is avg and a good starting place.) So 20 minutes of your day for running at least, and then the rest of your work out can be done while chillen in front of the tv. No excuse for being lazzyyy! Plus the majority of the excersizes above are for abs so they do work wonders.
Good luck and I hope you get toneddd

try buying a wii
it may sound like its just a video game
but there is wii boxing and a couple rounds of that will really get your heart going,
also there is this new wii fit
its a yoga board... ect
you should try yoga... and lift weights... the hand waights... because you should at least get strength in your arms

well you said you want to get rid of your stomach fat.. so make sure you do lots of sit ups! also just calling a friend and bike riding somewhere or just around your neighborhood is a good way to exercise without it really feeling like exercise. just getting out of the house is good. go to the pool.. swimming is great exercise! go play outside with your neighbors or friends. just getting out and going somewhere like the mall is good exercise. JUST GET AWAY FROM THAT COMPUTER!! haha. good luck!
