Swimming W/ a period

Im not sure if this is the right category for this question but hey whatever, ok yesterday was the first time i used a tampon i checked like 50 time to make sure I had it in right but all day it hurt like crud every time i moved i wanted to kill myself whats wrong with me ??

It normally feels weird the first few times, but it's not supposed to outright hurt. So if it ever hurts like that again, just take it out and then try to put a new one in. You may have put it in at the wrong angle, so you might have to experiment a few times before you get it just right. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with you- you just need a little practice :)

It could be possible that you had a tampon in that was too big for your flow for that day or it was in at a slightly wrong angle. What I suggest you do next time it feels awkward is to remove it and insert a fresh one. Try experimenting with different sizes for different rates of flow - smaller tampons for light bleeding and then go up and down in size in relation to the bleeding.

However, if you find that it continues to be uncomfortable to use a tampon it may be worth having a check up at the gynaecologists office just to make sure everything is ok. Sometimes, though not very often, a woman just cannot get on with using tampons at all. We are all different. All the best.
