I think you know what you have to do. Come clean. Yes, she might be angry at first, but she will respect you a lot more for admitting the truth.
Tell her it was an accident (or however you did it) and tell her you will pay her back in some way, by doing extra chores around the house or if you're old enough, by getting a job and giving her some money.
Try not to be scared. Just sit her down and explain. Or if you can't do that, tell her to sit down and hand her a letter.
I hope you get it fixed soon! and good luck.

You should tell her immediately before she finds out herself. If you wait to tell her, she'd be upset that you are keeping things from her, which will make her question her trust in you. Just be upfront, tell her what really happened, and apologize. If it was a mistake, just admit to it. If you were horsing around, own up and apologize.

She'll be upset and stressed out at first, which is to be expected, but after that, she'll calm down and get over it. She may not let you stay home from school anymore, but stuff happens.

The best approach is to walk straight up to her and admit it. This will impress her, as it will show your courage and maturity to own up to a mistake. It will also show her that you are honest and it might even go as far as to help your relationship with your mom, since it will allow her to trust you more. Everyone makes mistakes and hopefully she (will) understands that.

Hope this helps & good luck :)
