Cold Sores

Question Posted Sunday June 8 2008, 10:03 pm

Yesterday I borrowed some lip gloss from a friend who had a cold sore. Admittedly, I wasn't thinking. I didn't realize I could get cold sores from her until much later in the day. Well, anyway, me question is: Is there anything I can do to prevent catching cold sores? I know I already exposed myself to the virus, but is there anything I can do? I really really do not want cold sores. Thanks.

once your exposed, you can't prevent them any longer. but if you do get cold sores from using the chap stick, immediatly put abreeva on it and keep it medicated. hopefully it will go away quickly.

Good luck :)

yes. There is way to prevent cold sores. #1 DON'T USE OTHER PEOPLES LIPGLOSS!!!! Now if you HAVE a cold sore keep putting chapstick on it. I would put it on anyway just in case you have a cold sore and it hasn't like beefed up yet[sorry thats kinda gross but ya get my point right?].

TIP: Don't use fancy chapstick on cold sores use medical chapstick! Hope this helps!

Love ya!
