Im not soopersure on whats going on with this, but Ill try.
When the housekeeper comes in and you make the complaint, try this.
This is to say that the room is depressing, or dark, dim, etc. Use your imagination! Um, okay.

Use your BODY! Do a 'thinking' or 'confused' pose, or something of the like. I wouldnt really shrug the shoulders, just...tense them? Or something. And say something like
"Excuse me. Can I get a different room? This one is so...*stop and think*so...UGH!"
When you *stop and think*, purse your lips and raise an eyebrow, staring at the cieling or something.
The key is to give off alot of good body language and make sure that your voice matches your frustration. Just dont look like youre trying too hard, that can seem sorta cheesy.
