I would like to tone my stomach as much as possible in 2 weeks. I'm getting a navel piercing so I would like to tone it down a bit. I've been doing knee to elbow lifts and whatnot.. some aerobic videos too. Would Dance Dance revolution actually help if I do it for an hour or two? I really need to get into shape anyway so I'm trying to make it as much fun as possible. How long should I work out a day to get good results? I'm not expecting WOW i can totally see a difference results just enough to feel comfortable in my jeans again. I'm not sure what to do for eating. Someone told me to drink a lot before I eat so it fills me up or something? I dunno, any tips?
Type in the information necessary.
However, be smart and don't go below 1200 cals a day.
That's the food part. The exercise part: aerobics, dear. Aerobics. It will be the most effective in helping you shed the fat off your body so that your toning exercises can show. You can do 23958 crunches 2353 time a day but the toned abs won't show if you have a layer of fat surrounding your abdomen.
To tone...
Upper Stomach:
Crunches. Haha. Cliche, but crunches.
Lay down on your back with your legs bent at the knee. Put your hands where your head and neck meet and support it there to reduce the strain on your neck, but by no means use that advantage to lift yourself up. Make sure your head does NOT touch the ground while you do this. Do all that with your stomach. Come off a few inches, go back down. Do 2 reps of 8 and pulse for 8.
Lower stomach:
Get in a crunch position with hands by your sides [or behind your head that is ON the ground to make it a little advanced] Lift your legs, still bent, so that your knees are over your rib cage. Now lift up your buns and lower back off the floor a little. It's a very SMALL movement but if you do it correctly, it should help. 2 reps of 8.
Obliques:
Crunch position again with your hands on your head and neck for support ONLY. Make sure your head stays off the ground the ENTIRE time. Now, remove one hand and put it straight down your side and reach for your shoe...feet, whichever. Do 2 reps of 8. Switch sides.
Lay down on one side with your body in a straight line. Take the bottom elbow and bent it at a 90 degree angle so that you're elevated from the ground. So right now, you should be elevated form the ground with only your feet and elbow [and lower arm] touching the ground. You can hold it there in that position if it's hard enough. If it isn't, take your top arm, bend it at the elbow and place your hand behind your ear. Slow bend forward/down so that the top elbow touches the ground near where your bottom hand lies. This is pretty hard and you should do however many you can.
These are common ones.
However, if you have back problems...
Well, this can get long.

For the nutrition aspect of it, you should try to minimize your caloric and carbohydrate intake, and the carbs that you do consume, try to make sure they are complex and not simple. Simple carbohydrates (otherwise known as sugar) burn up quick and don't fill you up as a complex course would. All in all though, minimize carbs as much as possible. WATER will most definitley be your best friend through the course of this time. Not only does it fill you up, but it has no fat, carbs, or protein, the three fundementals that make up calories. Not only will it help you nutritionally, it will have a positive effect on your body to keep on exercising by providing energy. Do not drink any soda, whether that be diet or regular. Regular obviously because it has massive amounts of simple carbohydrates, and diet because it includes an ingredient called aspartame. Aspartame tricks the mind into thinking the food you are consuming is sweet when it really isn't. Why is this bad? It makes your brain crave sweets! For beverages, you should consume nothing but water. Even fruit juices are high in sugar and preserves! As for your excersising, do everything and anything you can that will help. Dance dancee revolution? A great cardiovascular workout! it makes your body sweat, your heart beat faster, your breathing increase. All in all, these are the components that burn fat. In order to recieve the toned look your looking for, the body fat must be at a minimum. Stick to extensive cardio excersises like running and even Dance Dance Revolution. Just try to have fun with your exercising and make your eating a challenge, that you desperatley want to beat. Just have fun with your workouts and stick to your diet, and you WILL achieve the results you are looking for! Best of luck to you!
