my first job interview

Question Posted Tuesday June 3 2008, 7:26 pm

ok, so i'm only 16, and i filled out an application for an italian ice place, and they called the other day asking me to go in for an interview on thursday. now, this is my first interview EVER, and i'm really nervous and have no clue what to expect. typically, what kind of questions would they ask you? and what basically goes on during the whole process?
thanks!

first of all. dress nice. not prom wear or anything, but no jeans and t-shirt. every interview is different and has different questions. be prepared for what school do you go to? why should i pick you over the others for this job? why do you want this job? where do you see yourself 3 years from now? things like that.
but the absolute worse. this happened to a friend of mine, she sat down and the guy doing the interview said. okay go, tell me about yourself. so be prepared for anything. keep in mind that they know your nervous and can pretty much guess that it is your first interview. Just stay calm. Most will try to work with your nerves.
good luck. i hope you get it.

also, my friend who is 16 recently had 2 job interviews, and she was real nervous, but both jobs wanted her! she said she was just completely honest and it went a lot better than she thought. she told me that when they asked her a question she wasn't sure about, she just said i dont know, and they told her they really appreciated her honesty! just make sure you know exactly why you want the job, why you feel you are qualified for the position, and be honest and be yourself! and relax..if you're nervous they might question hiring you =P
GOOD LUCK!
