so im 15/f.
most of my friends dont smoke. but most of my boyfriend (who lives 30 mins away) friends do smoke and has asked me to try it before but i said no. my mom and brother smoke and sometimes i dont mind the smell depending on the brand. my boyfriend is against smoking and said he'd never do it. and i told him i never would either. but for some reason i want to try it. and i hope you dont judge me for that.i just dont want to get addicted or have my boyfriend be disapointed or angry. i talked to his friends who smoke and they say i wont get addicted by just trying it once. i think i wont like it but i just want to know. i know most of you will say not to do it. but i'd just like a 2nd opinion. thank you and please dont judge me.
If your going to smoke do it right and stay away from easy addiction smoke.
The only reason people smoke is because its cheap easy and accepted and people have been smoking for years have they not?
Well people might`ve smoked, but i dont remember people rolling up dandy loins and smoking them.
Get the facts first of all. Only a child does a drug without 10 mins of reseach.
And honey, your 15, Still a child I must say, and take no shame in that, be happy that you can be happy with little b-4 soceity has its ways.
You should go to erowid dot org and studie aboot the chemicals in cigarettes. You`ll be very surprized what causes the cancer and what doesnt
And you`ll know that your "friends" who do smoke dont know a damn thing aboot what there doing, and if they did know, i highly doupt they would be doing it in pubic my friend, your local online shamen, Peace [ Buddhaman's advice column | Ask Buddhaman A Question ]

It is a nasty habit and hard to quit. Please don't, it's not a pretty thing. A lot of people try smoking but don't get addicted to it but why take the chance? It's your life and your decision, I just hope that you don't make the wrong one. [ Bunnunnah's advice column | Ask Bunnunnah A Question ]
xY0M0MMAx answered Tuesday May 6 2008, 5:52 pm: Well, some of my close friends smoke.
So, I won't judge you for it. :)
I personally don't smoke though.
So, I really don't think it would do any harm if you tried it once by yourself. If you did it with a group of friends, they would pressure you about it all the time, so I doubt it would just be a one-time thing. I mean, if you think you're friends or someone is gonna pressure you into it or something, go ahead & try it when you're alone so that it won't be possible for them to do that.
But trust me, It'll taste horrible, & you'll never want it again.
Plus, that way if you ever DO get pressured, you can have the it-tastes-horrible excuse. :)
Then again, there are a few people who can get hooked after one time. But I think that can only happen with more powerful drugs (cocain, etc.), so I think it's okay just once. But I'm not sure, so don't take my word on that.
Siren_Cytherea answered Tuesday May 6 2008, 5:40 pm: Actually, I think trying it once would be a good idea. Really, cigarettes taste horrible, and trying one would probably be more of a deterrent than anything.
It's perfectly normal to be curious. Hell, I'm a singer, and I hate smoke, but I tried it because I was curious. Now I know cigarettes are not for me - they made me cough and tasted bad, and I have no desire to smoke. Lol
Why not talk to your boyfriend and tell him you're curious, but you're worried that he'll be disappointed in you? If it's THAT important to him that you not smoke EVER, then hold off for awhile. You know, weigh the options. Your relationship VS curiosity.
Or, it might turn out not to be such a big deal for him if you try one, and you could be worried over nothing. Your best bet is to TALK to him. If you keep things from him and he finds out later...bad idea. He'll be more pissed that you lied/kept things from him than he will that you did it.
Communication is KEY to a good relationship.
Good luck!

loverocks answered Tuesday May 6 2008, 5:16 pm: Well, I know lots of family and friends who just can't stop even though they want to. One of which got hooked after her first cigarette.
If I were you I wouldn't try it because if you start you might not be able to stop. Plus with peer pressure too it would be hard.
