I DONT WANT TO BABYSIT

Question Posted Thursday May 1 2008, 8:58 pm

Okay, my next door neighbors have two kids. They are 5 and 9 years old. No offence to them, but I really don't like them. They are really annoying. Whenever we have a day off from school on like snow days or random hollidays where we don't have school on friday or thursday, they ALWAYS ask me to babysit. I have babysat for them like 10 times and I hate it. It keeps getting worse and worse. And it's not even that I don't like them, it's that I don't even want to be there and the day seems to get longer and longer since I have to babysit all day. We are not having school this Friday and I think that they are going to come over and ask me to babysit soon. Can anyone think of a good excuse to say if you dont want to babysit because i don't want to say, "I don't like your kids and I don't want to babysit. Sorry." Please help.

Just tell them you have plans. They can't just expect you to baby sit on every single day you have off, and if they do just say you have plans and you can't do it. Or maybe you can say you are sick or something. But I also agree and think you should let your parents know how you feel to because maybe they can help you out.

You simply have the right to decide.
Just say to them ''Sorry I have plans''
and if they insist on you babysitting, then tell them ''I have the right to do something/relax on my day off school too''

They're just assuming you're always there.

Once they see that when you have days off school, and you're busy, they'll leave you alone.

First off, tell your parents that you have a problem babysitting these kids. Say you might have plans, or that you really just are uncomfortable babysitting there. Then you can have your parents to back you up when you tell your neighbors.

As for them, I simple, "I'm extremely sorry, but I'm busy that day," will do. And if they persist, well thats why you have the parent option to back you up.

Hope that does something for you! Kids can be a real pain sometimes...
