what is the difference between .com .net and .org

?

.com = commercial- usually tries to sell something

.net = network

.org = organization

.com is commercial
Used for virtually any commercial or non- commercial website

.net is network
Used for ISPs; miscellaneous sites; used
sometimes when desired name is not
available in .com

.org is organization
Nonprofits; personal sites; open-source
projects; sometimes used by commercial
entities
