Prom!!

Question Posted Thursday May 1 2008, 5:34 pm

Hi Advicenators!! Okay so my prom is next friday..im really excited :) I still need some stuff though. A picture of my dress is at the bottom so please look at it to help you, Its light blue by the way. I need jewelry. I also would like to know what are some good kinds of make-up to wear? other then the kind i wear now. Because like i want to go to Sephora and get some nice make-up. What mascara is good? What bronzer is good? Eye Shadow-what color should i wear? Any other make-up i need--please say! And then what jewelry should i get? Like what type of necklace? and Earrings. I have no clue! All i need is like make-up that will last LONG! And stay the way it looks at first. Im not getting it done Im doing it myself! Thankyou :)

hi!

for prom, i would definately consider fake eyelashes. you might want to get those put on professionally, but its just fine if you do it yourself!

makeup, its always better to match that with your skin and not your dress. please dont wear blue eyeshadow with a blue dress. you could, on the other hand, wear maybe navy mascara or eyeliner if youd like. if your going to sephora anyway, ask them their opinion about formal makeup to match your skintype. they will know best.

jewlery, i agree with the columnist below me, that thin silver chains would be so pretty!
you dont need a neclace and earrings. if your going to wear both, i think you should wear studs so ur not overdone.

have fun at your prom!!

love always,

-L

Okay, so I know nothing about make-up but colors, but jewlery is something I'm set at.

Don't wear too much of anything. For jewlery, you'd do good with all silver thin chains. In necklace that goes to about your color bone with some small charm, maybe a blue stone or something like that. As for bracelets, a thin silver chain is good enough for that.

Earrings are a hard one, it would be better to see you really to see what would go nice with your face and hair but I can go with what I said before. Silver. Maybe... crystal studs or a thin chain with a stone at the bottom that sort of matches the necklace. No chandeliers.

I know no make-up brands whatsoever, since I rarely ever wear it. But I would say for colors a light light blue eyeshadow over nuder pinkish tones would go nicely.
You might want to go to Ulta or somewhere to ask advice on long lasting makeup and good bronzer and such for your skin tone.

But I hope I helped. Have fun at prom!
