working out...

Question Posted Thursday May 1 2008, 4:56 pm

Hi there! I'm 15/f. So since about January, I've been working out, trying to loose weight. I've been eating healthy and everything. I've actually lost some weight. My clothes fit looser. Expecially my jeans. Well, here latley, for the past couple weeks, I've been slakin on working out. I usually work out everyday, except Saturday's and Tuesday's. Well, I'm getting really mad at myself because I haven't been working out. I don't know if it's because I'm sick, like, I have a cough, stuffy nose, so maybe thats why, or if I'm just getting tired of it. So can anyone give me some advice on how to get back on track?? I still want to loose like, 20 pounds. So I know it will take me a while, but I was planning on working out pretty much everyday this summer, but I'm scared I'm getting too off track. Like, when I come back to school for next year, I want to look so much thinner than I am. So please help me!!! Oh, by the way, please don't say that I need to look different or anything. I'm doing this for myself, not for anyone else. Thanks a bunch!

I just want to say that well done for starting to exercise and eating healthier and sticking to it! It takes a lot from a person to do what you are doing...

Don't worry yourself so much with not working out this week. Yes, being sick can be the reason why you aren't exercising this week, I suggest getting better first before you try and exercise again. Don't worry about slacking you seem motivated enough to do this.So chances are you will do it!

Then: Write down a routine for yourself and stick it some where were you can see it everyday... It will help you to stick to exercising. Also if you can get some one to exercise with, I suggest you do that, having an exercise partner always helps...

Don't stress and just remind yourself why you want to do it and you will do it!

Best of luck and feel better soon! :)

Believe me, I know how hard it is to stick to a work-out schedule. Sometimes I slip a little too don't worry sweetie. It happens.
Try this, it worked for me and so it might work for you too: Literally sit down and write up a schedule that you can follow everyday.
For example:
Monday-
3:00 get home
3:00 to 4:00 do homework
4:00 to 5:00 work out
5:00 to 6:00 relax
...etc.

Just tell yourself how awesome you're gonna feel/look when you lose that 20 pounds! You are, after all, doing this for yourself, so get motivated!
I wouldn't worry yourself to death about getting off track. Stress isn't good for you and could cause you to actually gain a little weight. Just relax and get back out there sweetie!
Best of luck!
