My parents are sooooo retarded theyve blocked almost every site known to man, im surprised this site aint blocked, but anyways the block is a
Library Web Filter by DansGuardian, this message pops up:

"B L O C K E D
Access to
WHATEVER SITE
has been denied.

You are seeing this error because the web site or file you attempted to access contains material, links, or language that has been deemed to be inappropriate for viewing at the library.

Block Reason: Weighted phrase limit exceeded OR
Banned Regular Expression URL found

Please contact a librarian if you think there has been an error."

I know of a few ways to get passed that sort of thing. That is unless the school blocked it, but I'm still able to get on certain sites through this. I doubt your parents know about it. Theres this site called [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) or try [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Theres a place where you type in the site and it will take you to the site by connecting to another server outside of where your at. Just don't try to be looking up anything really inappropriate.

As you can see from the error message you're getting, the program your parents used blocks websites that have certain "inappropriate" content. But since those programs are just programs, and not people, they sometimes block things that aren't really bad after all. For instance, if it's programed to block any site that has the word "sex"... then it will also block a website that says "How to tell what sex your bird is." And of course that's not bad at all, but the program doesn't know that.

Sooo... talk to your parents. If there are certain sites you want to visit, ask them to take a look at them. There's probably a feature that allows them to unblock specific sites. That still won't give you total freedom, but at least it's better than nothing. And keep in mind that your parents really aren't trying to make your life miserable... they're just doing what they think will keep you safe.

when your parents set up the program, they must have been prompted to create a master password.

you can't do anything except talk to your parents about how you are responsible enough to not go on bad websites and do stupid things. don't yell at them. if you yell, no point in arguing. this isn't a debate. just explain to them your side of the situation, and then ask them what they think about at least being a little more lenient about the blocking of specific websites. don't get angry with them. prove that you can act your age & you can have an adult conversation with your parents.
