kay so im running for student body in a week or so, and i still dont know what i should do for my speech? I want it to be fun and creative, something that no one else will come up with! The speeches can be up to 2 minutes long..and we need to cover what we want to do and why we should be elected. I want to include those things, but not in a boring, telly way. If you know what i mean. lol any suggestions??

Throw in a joke or two. Have one of your friends carry a funny sign and walk around when you say you're speach. One of my friends ran from student body presdient and she got one of our friends to carry a sign that said ALICE IS GANGSTA and walk around below the stage while she did her speech. That's just an example. Something that will make the people laugh. When it coems to student body candidates I usually vote for whoever makes me laugh :-)
And also, use a quote. Save the quote for the end. I don't have any quotes in the top of my head but as an example, at the nd of your speech you can say "finally, in the words of JFK, one of the greatest Presdents of Amercia, ask not what (school name) can do for you, but what you can do for (school name)." Of course don't use THAT quote because it's not relevant. It depends on what your speech says but definitely use a quote in the end :-)

Oh! And you know wha else... maybe you should thtrow lollypops at the end of your speech. Just carry a purse or a suitcase and at the end of your speech, after yu said the quote, just throw the lollypops and say VOTE FOR ME! l.o.l. ^_^

Find out how much control the school administration actually gives you as student council president and why you're a cut above. Hit them with the fact that no amount of catchy slogans, poster, banners or free candy, promises or bribes will result in a good president. It's just a distraction so people don't focus on the fact they're not suitable for the job. Lay out the other candidates good qualities but emphasize weaknesses that would make them a poor choice.
Talk about real life leadership experience outside of school that makes you the better choice. And yes, you can get this all in under 2 minutes or even less. Pick 5 key points and stick with them.
How to make it creative? Don't go on creative or visual overkill. Use humor and lightly mock the other opponents (be careful though do it nicely). Also ask for a microphone that you can use so you can walk across the stage like a real politician does and drive home your points.
There's nothing saying you can't write up a series of index cards with student concerns on them and pull them out of your pocket and tell them "these are an assortment of things students have told me are key issues of concern." and then answer every single one of them as your speech.
Will this work? I can't say it will 100% but I can say you're looking at someone who did most of this and was student council VP for three years running and president in the fourth year of high school.
I was acclaimed because nobody else wanted to run against me that last year. I'm not saying that to brag at all. I'm just saying if you really work hard and do the kind of speeches and back them up like that you could win. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]
