well if your the only girl it will probably be tougher because they want to try and protect you from getting hurt or making the wrong choices. It probably seems kind of stupid to you, i know how you would feel, but they are simply just trying to keep you from making mistakes.

You can try and get trust by doing small things first. Maybe say I'll clean the dishes tomorrow or something that you can promise too. You also might try going to the movies with someone, if they let you be on time and it can also help build up there trust.

For the boyfriend, if you decide to have one try bringing him by the house, this shows that you want them to know that your not trying to do anything behind them and then they will think he is a great guy and you can probably go more places with him.

Hope this helped.
Love, advicexnow :]

i know how you feel.

im the only girl, and i have three brothers. my mom feels the need to 'protect her only girl' i guess. so i used to always get curfews, and she ALWAYS wanted to know where i would be and who with. like every little detail had to go through with her first. ridiculous right?

i dont know if thats the case with you, maybe you arent the youngest child, or the only girl, but if you are, then im sure what i said earlier has something to do with how they chose to raise you.

sometimes parents are so protective of their kids, simply because they want to look out for us what we might get ourselves into you know? i know you said that you would never do anything too extreme that would worry them, but sometimes it doesnt work that way.

my mom always used to tell me, "its not you i need to worry about, its other people around you." like since shes not by my side 24/7, the only way she feels like she can protect me from crazy people in the world is by setting boundries. and believe me, there are crazy people that teenagers need to look out for.

so in some way, i agree with why our parents can be so strict for certain things. its just how parents are. and even though we dont like it right now, later on in life we will apprecaite it.

they have our best intrest in life, trust me. and when you have your own family, your going to want to keep your kids just as safe.

about the boyfriend thing, show you parents that you can be responsible with who you chose to date. and when you do want a boyfriend, bring him by the house to show him off to your parents. if you show them that your making an effort to be responsible, then it will pay off. i promise.
(:
