i can perfectly be social with people at school,
even when im only with a friend.
but then when theres a large number of people im going to hang out with, i get very quiet. this is because i don't always know them well and don't want to say something wrong.
what can i do, to be more social around large groups of people?

Well, if you crack a joke and its not funny, just laugh at yourself. If you say something stupid just laugh. Laughing is a great way to be more social. I think that if you just be yourself, the real people that you want to meet will come and find you. And that is what you really want. No people to use you or judge you. Your you and no one can change that.
Forget the feeling of looking stupid or saying somthing wrong. Just talk like you would to your friend or a normal person. Be friendly and kind. Ask questions. Mkae good coments and don't respond if you don't know what they are talking about.
