What would you do if you found out your child was listening to Simple Plan? Would you think its bad or would you just say "Its music, who cares"? Any answers apreciated.
KlutzyKim answered Tuesday April 22 2008, 8:52 pm: I dunno of my opinion means amything
Due to the fact I'm 13 gonna be 14 in a few months
But I listen to Simple Plan
It's one of my all time favorite bands
If I was a mother I seriously wouldn't care
What your kid listen to it THEIR choice
It is SO wrong for a parent to control a child's music
Music is most teenagers excape from the world to relax
Most kids/teens the listen to music listen to stuff they can connect with and that they can say "Yea, I have that problem to" or whatever
So in simpler words;;
Its not bad
You shoukd say "It's music, who cares?" [ KlutzyKim's advice column | Ask KlutzyKim A Question ]
Matt answered Wednesday April 16 2008, 2:11 am: I would be insanely pissed off and would then force them to listen to Tool.
But other than preaching how to be a big enough loser to fit into today's society, their lyrics aren't horrible from a parent's view. They're just horribly written, but whatever. [ Matt's advice column | Ask Matt A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Tuesday April 15 2008, 10:35 pm: I would be fine with my children listening to any type of music. This is because I am a musician myself, and my parents let me listen to whatever music I wanted. That really helped me to explore different genres and experience different things. If you want to look at it this way, experiencing new things is the best way to learn about something that is different from what you're used to. Like traveling to a foreign country. So if you let your child listen to a different kind of music, they will learn a lot from it and appreciate the freedom.
karenR answered Tuesday April 15 2008, 3:25 pm: If my child was listening to any music
of a band I didn't know anything about,
I would check them out. I think its
important to know what your kids watch
or listen to.
That being said, I did check out
Simple Plan. I saw nothing wrong
with their lyrics or anything else.
If one of your parents is giving
you a problem print out some lyrics
and have them read. They shouldn't
judge just by reading the song titles
on a CD. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
