Question Posted Monday April 14 2008, 12:21 am

okk soo prom is coming up in 3 weeks and i have a couple questions. even if you can only answer one, i need some help!

1.. i've been dating a very outgoing, popular guy for a few months now. of course, he can dance & shake. and yeah i cant. he asked me to prom before we even started goin out, and ive been tryin to figure out a way to dance ever since. pretty much the bumpin & grindin and all that. yeah ive done it before a couple times, but not too well, and i dont wanna look retarded! i know everyone says just move with it and dont try too hard, but it seems like no matter what, even if i just do whatever and try to move, that i'm too stiff and cant loosen up to be able to move well, or that im doin everything totally wrong. i have no rhythm! ahh help me !?

and 2.. my dress is completely open-back. im pretty thin, but i want to tone my arms/shoulders/back before then. any ideas/exercises that'll make my muscles not bulky, but defined to look better in my dress ?

thanks =].

Haha funny thing, i just went to prom 2 days ago. It was really fun and i would have to say the whold bumpin and grindin is not what really happens. You dance around and do some goofy moves. you can just get into it and throw your hands up and get with the grove of the music just listing to how the beat moves with your personality. Just loosin up and go with whatever cause Prom is a night to remember, and if your tense you wont want to remember it. Just let go and see where the night takes you. Hope i helped.

:]

For no.1 PRACTICE
Put on some music and start to dance...(not wildly) and soon you will find something that looks decent if not great. Once youve got this key move practise it. then repeat the steps. Soon you will feel comfortable doing it.
Next step is to try it out. If you have any siblings letthem catch you doin your dance...if they laugh at you, it means you need to try again. i know this because siblings are the most honest at this stage.
hope iwas somewhat helpful. good luck :)

1) Try to bend your kness a bit and bounce up and down on your toes. I'm not sure what you guys dance like at your school. But try to follow a bit on what other girls [not total sluts] Normal girls are doing. And follow go with the flow! =]

2) Try crunches. Sit-ups (work your back) Streching your arm to your foot or the floor (arms)(Hold it for 20 seconds go back and do more)
Shoulders you can lift weights not totally heavey ones but light-ish one. You can run and lift the weights too. Do these each maybe each day or every other day.

xoxo,
Jenny

Hope I Helped! =]

I know that you are trying very hard to accomplish this, but the truth is, is that really you just go with the flow..you don't know what to do until your actually doing it. Don't worry. You will be just fine and you won't look like an idiot. Good luck.
