i have two guinea pigs, and one of them is suffering from dandruff. like, it's on his lower back area and he's always scratching himself. well we took him to the vet and the vet gave him medicine taking by mouth once every ten days. there's only two doses. i gave the first dose on april 2nd, except the itching hasn't subsided. he has a couple bald spots -- nothing major -- and he has like really big clumps of dandruff and he gets reallyyy jittery if i even touch his dandruff as if though i'm tickling him.
so i wanted to know.. in addition to the medicine, can i give him a little human lotion (fragrance free, REALLY simple stuff) just on the areas that are really dandruff-y? like lubriderm daily moisture? not even HALF a fingertip full? should i give him a bath? i want him to stop itching himself cause he sheds a lot when he scratches himself. also, a bath with just water would make his fur gross. should i give him human shampoo? should we ask the vet if we should buy him guinea pig dandruff shampoo? my parents think i should wait until the full dose is over, but it doesn't seem to be helpingg yet. just something to help him out in the meantime as the medicine starts to kick in.
i think the vet checked for mites but didn't find anything. is this normal?? can someone help me?

to help you! My friend has a guinia pig she sometimes gives hers (Patches) a bath with normol
shampoo it doesn't do anything but MAKE SURE YOU
DON'T GET IT IN THE PETS EYES!!!!! It will cause
problems! My friend got some in hers eyes and her
pets eyes were red for 3 days!I think it would be
ok for you to put a little bit of lotion on
your little piggy! But you should wait a week!
