Question Posted Sunday April 6 2008, 6:12 pm

im on jv cheer right now. for next years team, i made jv again =[ i have my bhs, which most other jv girls dont. and im going to be a junior for next year. the ONLY junior on jv. i am captain for this year, as a sophomore. do you think its embarassing being on jv again as the only junior? do you think i have a chance at captain again since i have been on the team before and am oldest? or do coaches not like to make same captain 2 years in a row? please help =[ thanks.

nahh actually coaches like the same girl being captain, because then that girl will know what to expect, has seen and done it all already, and can help, motivate, and reassure the other girls. (esp. freshies haha :) my freshy year, me and my best friend were jv captains. we made jv our sophomore year too, and we were both captains again. shes not in cheer anymore, but im a junior now & on varsity, so yea, coaches like girls that have been captain before. :) it might be a little embarrassing to be jv again, but if anyone but varsity says anything to you, just be like, at least i AM a cheerleader haha. good luck :)) -ali

Hey girl. My advice to you is to do your very best, and then you will suceed. I'm sure your coach wouldn't have a problem with you being captain again.
