Feet troubles with character shoes.

Question Posted Saturday April 5 2008, 7:02 pm

I'm currently in rehersals for a musical theatre show. I had to buy character shoes (there's a link to a picture at the bottom of the question) and now every time I wear them my feet hurt so much that it's almost unbearable. I've worn much higher heels before and had no problem. The shoes aren't too small, either. Right now, my feet are throbbing and I took my character shoes off more than an hour ago. My real question is: does anyone have any ways that I can a) make my feet hurt less while wearing my charcter shoes or b)help make my feet feel better when I'm at home?
Thanks.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, during a dance recital. I tried every kind of insole, etc. that you can think of. The only thing I can suggest is overlapping bandaids on the backs of your heels to prevent blisters, or if you already have them it may help reduce the pain, and putting insoles in them. Unfourtunatley, none of that worked for me. Good luck though!

Get some Dr. Scholl's insoles. If the shoes are a tight fit there's extra-thin ones that fit in dress shoes.

Also, try wearing them more often during the day to get used to them.
