i'm a guy and i'll be perfectly honest, i can't tell the difference between shimmer and lip gloss. i don't actually know what shimmer is (is it that shiny stuff?)... here's a good way to find out, though: wear one and kiss him. then rinse, and repeat. determine which one is the earth shattering mind blowing kiss where the planets align and the world seems like a better place (or at least good), and go with that one.

It really depends on the person you are kissing. My boyfriend likes when I wear burt's bees chapstick because it makes his lips all tingly.

Burt's Bees Chapstick has a better texture because it's not as "grainy" on your lips. Also it absorbs faster, and it smells good. Some guys like lipgloss/chapstick, others don't. Ask whoever you're kissing what he prefers :)
