need to look better in a bathing suit.

Question Posted Friday March 21 2008, 7:44 pm

I'm 13 and about 5'4" and about 120 pounds. I have friends that are 100-105, so I know it wouldnt be unhealthy to lose 15-20 pounds. Are there ways to quickly and safely lose weight that have been affective?

Alright... You want to lose weight quickly AND safely, unfortunately the two don't really go together, if you're losing a few pounds a week, that's healthy.

If you want to lose weight, I suggest going for walks, it's also a good way to clear your mind, also maybe using weights. There are little tricks you can use to speed up your metabolism.

Try drinking a glass of warm water with lemon juice first thing in the morning (I know it sounds gross but what have you got to lose?) *chuckle* Also, keep drinking about 6 - 10 glasses of water each day. I've tried heaps of diets, the good thing to do is set a goal weight and a goal date, please try to make this realistic. You could also try eating less junk food, instead of chocolate, try an apple, you'd be surprised at how much an apple can fill you up because it swells in your stomach. Try eating more fruit all together, and vegetables, but don't forget things like lean red meat. if you do this and a bit of excersise on the side, you'll find you'll be on the right track to losing the healthy amount of weight.

Hun, you dont need to loose wheight. I'm 14, 130 pounds and exactly five foot tall. Did you ever think theyre underwheight? These girls might not be as tall as you either. But if you really wanna loose wheight, just try to lay off drinking soda and drink water ALOT. You could try going on walks and then try jogging and then get to where you could run. that will help. And one thing witch most people don't try. Turn Vegetarian. I've been veg. for a few months and ive lost around 13 pounds. When I decided to I wasnt even attempting to loose wheight either.I know it sounds a bit extreme but once your used to it its not hard at all. Oh, and if you do turn veg, make sure to take a multivitiman or you wont get enough protein and your immune system will become weak and you can get sick. hope i helped.

Well, you sound fine to me, but if you want to safely lose some weight, you should excercise. Ok, first of, drink lots of water. Not only will this help clear out your digestive system, but if youdrin cold water, your body burns calories trying to warm you up. Plus, the human body usually gets hunger confused with thirst, so water will fill you up without adding calories :]. If you just want to tone up a bit, crutches, luges and some cardio or weightlifting will do that quiet nicely. Now, The more you excersise, the higher your calorie intake needs to be, so when it's dinner, or you just want a quick snack, grab something healthy like a banana or some peanut butter on crackers :] Goodluck!
