Using an iron is worse than hair straighteners. Hair straighteners now are normally solid ceramic or at least ceramic plated - as opposed to metal which just basically singes your hair. Not good.
The only plus side of using an iron is it's probably quicker because they have a large surface area - allowing more hair to be straightened at a time.

My advice:
Just use a good hair straightener and heat protection spray.

Useing a iron is like a last resort.
it is SOOOO bad for your hair.
And it takes a lot longer. its hard to get around the fase. and its not a very good way to straighten your hair.

Use a normal straightner. =] There is this cool stuff you can buy at any cvs like a drug store or something. Its called finishing spray from Herbal Essance. Its really good for not drying your hair out and you just comb it in after you straigten your hair. and it helps it stay stright. =]

hope this helps

In my opinion....using a straightener is much easier and better. when you use an iron its really hard to do your self, so you need some ones help. it doesnt raelly work any better, but with a straightener you can do smaller pieces of hair, and you are less likely to burn yourself
