Why do Victoria's Secret, Alloy, etc only sell clothes through catalogues?

Why do Victoria's Secret, Alloy, etc only sell clothes through catalogues instead of in stores? because not everyone knows about catalogues and people can't try on anything, in addition to the sending and stuff would seem annoying. Victoria's Secret has sweatshirts and sweatpants available but not like the clothes featured in their catalogue. :(
Also, that may be how they choose to run their business- through catalogs. Some people prefer that. Alloy (and Delias) are becoming more widespread as stores, though :) [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]

a lot of. Victorias Secret has been around for
ages. They started out as catalog only sales.
Most people like the anonymity of buying
sexy lingerie and outfits like they sell
from the privacy of their homes. Most of
those stores will order what you want and
get it for you in the store. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
