eww im reading this book for ap. i hate it. sparknotes.com l.o.l
but, from what we have talked about in class, you can talk about hester and how everyone in town envied her. they were insulted by her when she did the crime but also could have envied her because she was so young and beautiful and they were all ugly and pitiful. they also feared that the man might have been their husbands since she never did confess who the adulterer was.

umm...the meteor maybe? dimmesdale saw it as a letter A and thought it was a sign of his sin while the towns people thought it was this guy who died (forgot his name). if you need more help, message me or myspace message me lol. ill be glad to do a shared inquiry with you lol
