okay so i've been sick since the first week of february and it's now march fourth. i have an awful cough and i feel the constant need to cough like deep in my lungs. i've been to the doctor three times and i took zithromax for walking pnemonia but i still have this stupid cough and i'm starting to get nervous. i'm only fourteen and i know i'm probably instigating it because i've recently picked up smoking but i only smoke like once every other day. and i've been sick longer then i've been smoking. it's starting to scare me, what should i do? is this normal?
CHECKERED-LOVE answered Wednesday March 5 2008, 9:34 am: i think i have the same thing as you because ive been sick for about 2 and a half weeks now and im still feeling awful. i talked to my doctor (im 14 too) and she said that its normal. I think you just have to ride it out.
also, i know i'm not your mom and i shouldn't try and tell you what you can and cant do, but the smoking isn't helping the cough.
and smoking every other day is going to be really bad for you in the long run.
MAK answered Wednesday March 5 2008, 3:06 am: What should you do? Quit smoking. Having all that cigarette crap in your lungs isn't helping your cough, I guarantee it. I also don't know how smoking effects your medication, but I would definitely read up on it/talk to your doctor. (They need to know things like whether you smoke or not, because often it will change their choice of what medication to prescribe).
