Alright here is the deal....my best friend and i have bin like fooling around and stuff....and he tells me he cares alot about me every time we're together...but sometimes he goes like 4 days without trying to contact me....is that ok? and secondly...i want to take this a step further and actually date him so how would i tell him and should i tell him?

Well first off are you sure you want to risk your friendship on something that might not work? Becasue chances are if it ends badly and you both get hurt then the friendship is pretty much over or its going to be very weird. and second if he gos a few days without calling maybe he just wants to make sure that you know that he gives you space. Maybe he doesnt want to make it seem like you two have to be joined at the hip.

That is ok that he doesn't contact you for a few days. When it comes to my obligations calling someone takes a couple of days or even more. I wouldn't worry to much about that. You should definitely tell him. He is just waiting for you to say something. The point of him telling you cares for you is a hint that he wants to be a couple. It is always good to be friend before you date it just means that you will be really close especially in a relationship. A way to tell him is to ask him to come over to your house. Don't panic and don't think about how his reaction is until he actually gives one. If you picture what he will say then you will be upset when it doesn't happen exactly how you pictured it even if it is a great reaction anyways. First ask him if he ever thinks about you. He will answer and then ask him in what way. Then ask him how he would feel if you guys were more than friends. I guarantee that he will give the reaction you want.
