They have everything you'd want and a clearance link too incase the regular stuff is too expensive. Might want to try west 49. They usually have nice clothes that are always in and they have a great selection. If that is expensive, you might want
to try stitches. They have amazing jeans and denim wear along with some nice hand bags and accessories.
You can always try your local wal mart or target. They have cute clothing at afforable prices.
T-shirtss and jeans are always in, especially skinny jeans and knee-high boots,

varsity_prep_xo answered Tuesday February 26 2008, 5:35 pm: J. Crew is excellent quality but a little pricy, but they have a ton of cute stuff for the spring in bright colors. Their look is classic preppy, a little more conservative than AE but its really stylish. That's what I wear and its pretty popular in like New England. Some stuff to look for would be their grosgrain flipflops and ballet flats, cardigans, shorts (although some are kinda long, capris, polos) AND J.CREW belts are sooo cute. omg i LOVE those. they are expensive but worth it! if you want less expensive you could try and make your own by ordering ribbon from preppyribbon.com. Search "how to make ribbon belts" for details.
Headbands are another trend that's still going, they have really cute ones at J. Crew, but also cheaper ones at T.J. Maxx, JasmineSola, H&M, Forever 21, etc. You can also buy those sparkly hair clips they sell on like carts in the middle of the mall (like the kind which rhinestones in them), wear ribbons in your hair sometimes. Another style that is in is "tortoise shell" which is like black and brown marbled hair barettes. You can find those at CVS. You can also wear like those thin scarves in your hair (if you know what im talking about..) They usually sell those at T.J. Maxx.
T.J. Maxx can have some great finds, I find designer stuff all the time there for cheap: designers like Ralph Lauren, AE, Abercrombie, Lucky Brand, Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Hilfiger, Armani Exchange, Michael Kors, Coach etc. They also have designer jeans... like I got 7 for all Mankind jeans there for 20$. soo thats good. They also have really cute shoes there.
GAP, Forever 21, Lilly Pulitzer (expensive and huge prints, idk if you would like it but its also classic-preppy), Aeropostale (I know its gross but you can find cuteeee dresses there!), Marshalls have dresses usually. H and M too sometimes, but it can be sometimes cheap and they usually have more subdued colors- but you might find something really great there. Hollister and Abercrombie are usually overrated but sometimes they have cute sundresses as well.
Patterns that are in= Madras, (Subdued) Floral, Paisley, small polka dots or stripes. I also like the nautical look, which is like clean-cut white, navy, red kind of things. Like.. a navy and white striped shirt, or a rope belt, or something. Colors that I like would be aqua blue, coral, black/white, greens (go with everything, i would definitley get a black or white v neck to go with all your stuff. Try to avoid pink... its way to overdone. I also like seersucker material (its like cotton stripes... look at it online) for shorts. Plus there is always jeans and khakis.
Over your dresses I would wear a cute cardigan sweater, or maybe a jean jacket depending on the dress.
Since you like heels you could try wedges, which are high but more stable than stillettos. Try zappos.com, they have like every shoe ever. Other stores I like for shoes are Baker Shoes, Macy's (Shoe Dept), Aldo (but they are sometimes ghetto-ish). DON'T GET CROCS!
I personally like ballet flats in cute prints. Look at 'Keds' brand on Zappos for those.
Jewelry is generally simple, you could try silver-ball earrings or pearls, nothing overly big and dangly. Mainly studs, I like ocean motifs like starfish, there are cute ones at AE. You could also get glasses as an accessory, if you need them. Try black square frames, those are really popular.
Target has cute bags with prints for the summer. And really cute bathing suits. These are generally pretty good quality. Victoria's Secret also has good bathing suits, search online. They also have cute sweats, and I think they are having a huge sale....
