Question Posted Saturday February 23 2008, 3:15 pm
I have befriended my old schools social worker. She gave me her num,ber when I left my old school and we talk every once and a while when I get up the courage. Well during this past summer we went out to eat and got a chance to talk. (by the way this was all her idea, I just called to schedule!) Anyways...my family told me it was weird that I was talking to the social worker and that I should have left her behind. The problem is, is that I don't talk to my mom and I need an adult outlet, and she is it. SO do you think it is wrong to keep talking to her on her personal phone and going out with her every once in a while? She is in middle school and I am in high school if that helps
Thanks a bunchh <333

Oh, I'm so sorry for worrying about your safety.

Talking on the phone is OK.
I don't think that meeting outside of school is considered 'OK'. Your mom is only worried about your safety. You met her in middle school, it's not like you've known her your entire life.
Keep talking to her on the phone, but I would probably not suggest meeting her outside of school for the sake of your safety.
You might think that she's 'cool', but you're naive [as is any other teen]. You don't know her past, or if she's been convicted of anything. [ Sima's advice column | Ask Sima A Question ]
