What does the 9th amendment mean?

We have rights and laws that aren't specifically stated in the constitution...

The constitution doesn't claim that murder is illegal - we made that one up ourselves.

"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

Basically, it says that there are certain rights listed in the Constitution, but that doesn't mean that there are no other rights that aren't listed. It's pretty much saying that there are rights that members of the country are entitled to, except they are not specifically stated in the Constitution.

Most people interpret these unstated rights as life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness.
