White Areas in Fingernails? I have these little white marks (like horizontal lines almost) in my fingernails. I've had them since I was little. What could they be?

The person who said that below is right. I have the same thing, and I thought it was weird, too. So I asked my mom (a registered nurse) about it, and that's exactly what she told me.
If it really bothers you, try taking daily vitamens or eating better. They really aren't too big of a deal, though.

I think it means you need more calcium or its just old wornout grooves. It shouldnt hurt you any.

some people say they are sort of like 'scratches,' but they're nothing to worry about. i have them too. your nails just grow them out sometimes, but if you drink milk, they should stop. ]
