how to spell the word what the difference with spelling the word ending with -ious, -eous, -uous, or just -ous?
like when do you k now which correct spelling to use?
when is it iuos? or eous?
also what are some other words you know that has the letters "-eau" to it like "plateau" or "bureaucracy"... what else?
i need to know how to spell good for the district spelling beee... what else is there besides the eau?
or any silent letters? like pnemonia. silent p's?

**The "t" changes it. Fick-ti-shus=fic-ti-tious. "Ti" sounds like "sh".**
-ious sounds like pious, "eye-us". Pious is pronounced "pie-us", not "pee-us".
-eous sounds like righteous or gorgeous, "us" with a silent "e" or "ee-us", depending on dialect.
-uous sounds like "you-us", as in disingenuous.
-ous sounds like "us", as in serious.
-eau is rare. You need to memorize words that use it.
English is very complex. There are definitive rules, but there are a lot of them. It will help if you read a lot. ]
