Singing in a microphone

Question Posted Wednesday February 13 2008, 4:42 pm

14/f

Whenever I sing, I sound.. pretty good i guess. But with a microphone, I really hate my voice. I think it sounds different--- yes, different in a bad way. What wrong? What can i do to still sound the same? i mean the microphone is there just to make the voice louder.. not change how it's SUPPOSE to sound.

Please.. any advice?

try holding the microphone at different angles, along with putting it farther/closer to your face. just remember too, that what you hear is also different from what the audience hears. It could also be the microphone, try out different microphones to see which is the best, some are better than others.

Most people don't like hearing their voices through electronic equipment. It's all in your head. Maybe cover your ears or just don't pay attention.
