tropicalbabe33 answered Thursday February 7 2008, 11:48 am: I think it's fine to do it just once.
I smoke weed sometimes, not very often, mostly at parties or gatherings and I don't get really, REALLY stoned like some people. The effects generally seem to be getting the giggles, so you find pretty much everything funny, the muchies - meaning you get really hungry and just start eating everything, a dry mouth so it's best to drink water while you smoke it, and feeling relaxed and happy.
Doing it one time won't follow you your whole life. Doing it a few times won't follow you your whole life.
The only time it's going to start effecting your life is if you start doing it like every other day or every day. [ tropicalbabe33's advice column | Ask tropicalbabe33 A Question ]

Know why the drinking age is 21? Its not because at 21 you hit a magical age where drinking is just morally right, or that you cant handle it until then. Its because its important for people to become fully functional person before developing habits that could potentially hurt their lives. Its hoped that by 21 you are developed enough to be able to add getting drunk to your life without screwing yourself or your life up.

Assuming you want personal connection, I had a friend who said almost the same thing- she wanted to try pot just once to prove to herself that it was bad. Thing is, she was hooked, that instant, and couldn't give it up for a while. She went in for a brain scan to see if there were any lasting effects, & the drugs had burned effing holes into her brain. o.o
Pot (along with many other drugs) also stays in your system for longer than a week. It soaks into your pores & tubes & innards & stays for 30+ days.
[that may have sounded a little off- its all thanks to heavy school films on why drugs are BAD, and why staying off drugs is C-O-O-L. Hence the strange language in them trying to teach a lesson]
Just know that once doesn't always mean once. [ KristinaKinesthetic's advice column | Ask KristinaKinesthetic A Question ]
