Frostbite

Question Posted Tuesday January 29 2008, 10:20 pm

Hey,
I live in manitoba, in canada, and its freezing here right now. Last week I was outside without a hat on and my ear got really red, and hurt alittle, but it stopped hurting after about twenty minutes. I was alittle worried about frostbite, so I started wearing my hat. Today it was super cold (-45C, I dont know what that is in F sorry :P) and I think that even though I was wearing my hat, I got frostbite. Last time the soreness went away right away, but its been about nine hours since I went out and it still hurts when I touch it. I know its not severe, but is there anything I should be doing to treat it, or will it heal itself?
Thanks for the help!
-Ange

You can put neosporin on it, which will numb the pain and hopefully make it feel better. I would take some advil or asprin if it hurts alot. If it doesn't get better in a few days time, go see a doctor.

I would just stay out of the cold weather until it is healed- because you can't do anything else.
Brr! That IS cold!

At this point there's nothing you can do. It will heal itself. Try not to go out in the cold for a while.
