my large appetite creates embarassing situations

I am a 20 year old college girl. I am very athletic and I have a very fast metabolism and an absolutely enormous appetite. I often eat 7500+ calories a day. Even my athlete friends think I am a total pig. I have seen several doctors and none has found a cause - except maybe an unusually fast metabolism. Sometimes my friends find my appetite entertaining, sometimes weird, and sometimes down right annoying. I often find it awkward or even embarrassing. If I'm staying at a friends house, it's not too uncommon for me to get hungry and clean out their fridge. Sometimes I can still be hungry again 3 or 4 hours later. No matter how understanding they are I still feel awkward. Sometimes people don't seem to realize that I can't help it when I'm hungry and that makes it worse. Other awkward things include going to an overnight church retreat and spending the weekend with my roommates family. I want to know how I should handle these things.

i agree with hichick- bring your own food :) if you're staying at somebody's house, or at a church retreat or whatever, make a bathroom break excuse and go pig out in your room on some high calorie stuff. at band camp, we all bring our own food (even though there is food there) and all we ever do is eat. so it's not socially unacceptable or anything, and if anybody questions you, just say that you have a very fast metabolism. it would be good if you could keep granola bars with you in your purse when you're with friends- that way if you get really hungry at least you have something to eat instead of eating other people's food or something.

wow, you remind me of this kid i know, his name is Ryan and he like you! I mean he eats like 2 large pizzas at lunch and is still hungry. I actually don't care at all that he's like that, because thats how he is. Anyways, it doesn't seem like he minds much because he gets up and is like, well im gonna get more...

I think it's dumb how people are so interessted that you are hungry and eat so much. What i would say, is not to show that you are eating much. What i mean is that people don't change, and the only thing you can do not to show it much. Im not saying, don't eat. i'm saying be more discreet (sp)

don't be soo self concious, this is beyond your control and you can't help it.

the other advice person said not to eat, but thats liek really hard so don't listen to him/her.

Keep food in your pocket, and maybe have it high calorie, so it would make it so you don't eat as much..

BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!! im sorry but r hunger isnt their problem and they will get extremely annoyed if you eat all there food! food costs a lot of money! solution: bring your own food and apparently a lot of it haha.
Also you will be hungry less if you eat less. in the beginning you will be hungry but after a while your body adjusts so just eat less-have smaller meals and dont snack as much or often or on unhealthy foods. eat lots of fruits and veggies even if they dont seem to fill you. hope i helped :] and im sorry but i think its kinda weird-why dont you just stay hungry and not eat so much? people need food but you dont need to eat to your fill! if you feel embarrassed by the excessive amount you eat then with others JUST DONT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! eat what is neccessary not what you want to eat or would normally.
