under warranty but lost reciept

okay so i bought a camera last month and its under warranty but i lost the receipt.. the camera doesnt work so i wanted to send it in to get it fixed.. for free. but now that i dont have the receipt what should i do? and i dont have the kind of money to get it fixed so i dont know what to do? i still have the box if that helps?

Also, going with ciao's message, a good way to make sure you keep your reciept is to put it in the box after you have taken the merchandise out of it. This way, if something were to go wrong, you will know where the reciept is.

It should help that you have the box. The salesperson might be able to scan it, and see if your information comes up- or maybe there is a product ID or something on it as proof of purchase.Ask if that is possible.

Try seeing if the store has your information, and let the salesperson (or if needed, the manager) that you did by it from them, but lost the receipt. Hopefully they will be able to help you out.

In the future, save all your receipts, as it can help out.
