On a piece of paper put the subject "electricity" and then draw lines and little balloons with each of your ideas about it. Pick a good 2-3 to use to inspire your story and develop characters. It's a great technique that seldom if ever fails.
The other thing you need to do is to stop putting pressure on yourself to write something amazing. Great pieces unfold and can't be forced. If you're having trouble take a break for 30 mins to an hour and come back to it with new ideas.
Even if you have to write 1 paragraph and stop and come back in increments all night you'll be fine. Write what comes to mind, try your best, edit and then hand it in. Let the chips fall where they may and stop putting stress and pressure on yourself to complete it.
