Sima answered Monday January 21 2008, 2:05 am: Aside from what the others have said, I had a minor incident where my knee would pop and crack every time I stretched my leg. The doctor said that I had bursitis [inflammation of the knee], and that I would have to lay off of physical activities for two weeks and take ibuprofen. Obviously, I don't play football or squat that many pounds, but it could help to maybe cut down on the physical activity that you take in [which is quite a lot]. TheAnnie answered Sunday January 20 2008, 1:38 pm: are you in high school? if so go to the athletic trainer and ask for their opinion, when you have pain to to the nurse. if the pain still last consider a check-up with a doctor
also use those knee brace things, you can get them at any drug stores
RBfootballTD answered Sunday January 20 2008, 10:10 am: well dude, im comin from a highschool team with a trainer an a doctor on campus, so i would say go see them, if that is not the case, you need to schedule an appointment, because it could be a wide array of things. First you could have something that is pinching the nerve down there, 2nd you could have your patella tendons being pulled, 3rdly you could be gradually tearing your miniscus/acl/pcl/mcl, i dont know where exactly it hurts, but if all three of those are the case, you go to the doc now and be out for a few weeks, or you go when you cant walk and you need surgery, 18 week recovery, and football is outa the question. Also i hope when your squating your not squating 340 all the time, but doing percentages off that weight. And finally i would not do any leg extensions until you find out what's up [ RBfootballTD's advice column | Ask RBfootballTD A Question ]
ChevyIINova answered Sunday January 20 2008, 2:50 am: Knee brace. Tell your coach what's going on, let him know. He may give you some exercises to do. Also see your doctor. He'll probably put you in a .... knee brace. It'll keep the knee stiff and keep it from flexing the wrong way. You might have some damage too that a doctor needs to see. I've been weightlifting since I was a teen and I squat 750lbs but I have a knee injury too. [ ChevyIINova's advice column | Ask ChevyIINova A Question ]
