okay i just started my period for the first time.
im confused with tampons?
it hurt really bad when i first put it in.
and i was confused like how far to put it in.
just enough so the string hangs out?
seriosuly i need help!
Additional info, added Saturday January 19 2008, 2:24 pm: like when i put it in theres still part of the plastic part sticking out.
is that normal??
and when i pee what do i do?
take it out and then change it?. Want to answer more questions in the Sexual Health and Reproduction category? Maybe give some free advice about: Menstrual/Period Issues? HiChick answered Saturday January 19 2008, 7:36 pm: ok well there are two plastic parts and cotton inside with a string interlaced in the cotton. hold the end of the bigger plastic part and put it up at an angle like previously stated until your fingers touch your vagina then push the smaller tube up all the way until it meets the end of the bigger tube and then pull the bigger tube containing the smaller one and through it away if its plastic, flush if its cardboard and then just the cotton and string is inside you.
when your heavier i change it whenever i go to the bathroom but when your lighter and slowing down if you dont need to change it just hold the string to the side and you can go to the bathroom with it in. its kinda weird tho so i dont usually do that-i just change mine.
And PS the plastic should not be in you at all-JUST cotton and string! haha and it will hurt possibly the first couple times you just have to loosen up your vagina because right now its really tight.
You_Got_Advice answered Saturday January 19 2008, 6:04 pm: the first times i used one it hurt so bad i walked like a penguin and had to take it out 20 minutes later. pads are annoying, inconvenient, uncomfortable, and smelly. i suggest you look at the pictures on the instructions of the tampons. they show you EXACTLY how to angle it and how far it goes. (dont put the tampon straight up. put it at an angle back a bit. the instructions show it.)
now that i can use tampons they take like 2 seconds to take out and put in, i forget i even am on my period(and i have a bad flow so thats saying something) and i can dance and move around and its great. so keep trying, its worth it. practice makes perfect. Te-Hirata answered Saturday January 19 2008, 3:36 pm: I'm not saying this from doing it but um if your having any problems with using a tampon stop using them and start using a pad instead OR read the instructions carefully in the tampon box that you by or who ever brought them for you. Another solutions is talk to your health nurse (she never tells any one she keeps it personal) [ Te-Hirata's advice column | Ask Te-Hirata A Question ]
