They're just at that age where they start to notice the opposite sex more, I guess. They'll calm down about it soon. Who knows, maybe you will join them in their discussions and crushes. :)

Usualy girls who are insecure obsess over boys (but that's from my opinion) if she doesn't like herself, she might feel she needs this boy to complete her.
A lot of teenage girls don't feel secure in themselves, and think that the acceptance of boys will make them like themselves more.
Which isn't true, you have to like yourself before others can learn to like you.

Its just something in the girl mind...They'll grow out of it and you will eventually grow into it when you have a huge huge crush. Its the same with guys thinking girls are hot and have only seen them one time.
