Gross but serious Okay so prepare yourself for some nasty. When I poop it hurts so bad. I usually don't cry. Like when I broke my finger I never cried, but when I poop I cry. It hurts way bad. After it's over it makes me bleed. I told my doctor and she didn't do anything. She just said my poop is too hard and it's causing me to bleed. It rips my skin at times. Is this really serious or should I toughen it out? I'm also 16/f. If that says anything.

You need to go to another doctor, NOW. You don't say how long this has been going on, but if it's been more than 2 weeks, then this could be serious. Yes, it could be your diet, but you need a doctor to rule out other things. You need to get a complete blood count to check for infection. Do you have a family history of bloody bowel movements? I know it's hard to talk about--I never knew that Ulcerative Colitis ran in my family until after I was diagnosed. I went to 3 different doctors who told me pretty much what your doctor told you then I ended up in the hospital before they finally ran some basic tests on me to figure out what was wrong. Once I got treatment, I got better. But I went through a lot of needless pain (and embarrassment). Any time you have blood in a bowel movement, you need to find a doctor who is willing to find out EXACTLY what the cause is. Good Luck. ]
Drink a lot of fluids and eat lots of fruits and vegetables that contain water in them. Plus have fiber. Thats really gross, but if you learn to take fiber and drink water, it should change in a couple of days...*shutters* ]
The only thing i can think of is that you don't have enough fiber. ]
Your doctor should have gave you something or told you what to do. You need more fiber in your diet. I had the same problem for 4 years because I was anemic. You need to try some stool softeners.. laxatives. Pepto-Bismol is also good.

Try it for a couple of weeks and if it's not helping, go back to the doctors. But I think you need to see a different doctor that will actually help. ]
