Ipod

Question Posted Wednesday January 9 2008, 8:06 pm

I have a 30g Ipod and i have 1,500 songs on it right now with about 12 movies or so. My computer crashed, and we had to delete all of my songs/movies from my computer. Now I have Itunes, but my movies/old songs are not on there. Is there a way i can just plug my Ipod in my computer and the new songs will transfer to it, without my old stuff getting deleted!?

You can also install EphPod.

I sold my other iPod when I got my newer one, and wanted the music. It's very easy, and copies the music right onto your computer.

Quick and Easy.

There are programs that do this for you, but why hassle yourself with using up more space on your computer. When you connect your iPod, open up My Computer and double click on your iPod hard drive icon. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View Tab, and check off the box that says 'Show Hidden Folders and Files'. You can always undo this later if you need to. When you go through your iPod again, you should see a transparent (hidden) folder. Open it and look for the folder with your music in it. You will then find folders labled FF00 - FF49 (total of 50). Open each one and press CTRL + A to highlight them all, and just click and drag them out into a different folder, like My Music or My Documents.

Once you have done that with all 50 folders (trust me, it sounds longer and worse than it is), open iTunes and drag all those songs and movies into the iTunes music library and presto! Double check to make sure the number of songs on iTunes matches up with the number of songs you have on your iPod. You should be able to connect and sync regularly with no loss of music or movies. Hope that helped and good luck.
